I just returned from a two week teaching and ministering trip to Poland and Ukraine.  I went with a team of 4 marketplace leaders, ministers and teachers who are good friends of mine from the US and Denmark.  John Garfield was our designated leader with the teaching theme of “Releasing Kings”, which is also the title of his very excellent book.

John uses biblical scripture to encourage and evoke your hearts desire for life to become a reality for you.  A most amazing transition takes place in the hearts, minds and faces of believers when they realize they have God’s blessings to seek their hearts desire and that all things are possible with God. But the miracle making ingredient to the formula is to love people.  John proved that when he taught by loving the people every chance he got.  Most important however was that he really meant it.  People sensed it and reacted positively.

Combining your Divine call, your hearts desire and your ministry gifting all into one Godly, supernatural package empowers one to accomplish feats that here to for never even entered their minds.  I speak not of a New Age inner self realization of hidden energies and karma but of a Holy Spirit filled weapon of righteousness and love capable of doing all things in Christ Jesus.

The conference objective as well as the ultimate purpose for “Releasing Kings”, is to Have Fun.  Make Money.  Love People!  That’s exactly what we did,  except make money this time.  We did however encourage the attendees to use their dreams, gifts and calling to accomplish those three objectives while teaching them the fundamentals of doing business by biblical Kingdom principles in their families, the Marketplace, and in their churches.

The response after a few days of teaching and praying for people resulted in nearly 40 new salvations and numerous people deciding for the first times in their lives to pursue their business dreams.  We taught on attitude, business planning, sales, marketing, employee employer relations and finances required to start and run a successful business.

As usual while ministering to these success hungry saints, many signs and wonders of healing and deliverance followed those who believed just as the Mark wrote in his Gospel chapter 16, verses 15-18.  I can testify that I even prayed a serious sinus infection attack off myself by confessing and believing that scripture while on my way back on a 13 hour plane ride to the USA.

I come back and recollect and marvel at the faith and willingness those people have to believe for a better life in Jesus.  They have the faith to trust and try as the men of God teach and preach and great things are a result.  Not because of the men of God for sure, but for the humility, honor and obedience they offer the teacher as God’s prophet and therefore they receive a prophets reward.

We anxiously look forward to our return to those lands and see once more what God has in store for those who love Him for “eye has not seen, ear has not heard nor heart know the things which God has prepared for those that love Him.

THE GREED FACTOR

I doubt any of us or our companies we work for are exempt from greed to some degree.  Somewhere along the way we crossed over that line of “putting the customer first” to “putting me first”!  When this kind of a business practice goes unchecked, trouble usually results in a variety of ways.  The most common result will be the ultimate loss of a good customer and long term revenue to you and your company.  Another even more serious issue is that often that greedy practice is observed by others in the company which then becomes an acceptable procedure for them to use as well since you did it and got away with it.  The next thing you know, you have a GREED EPIDEMIC.

Now for a salesperson this can be the beginning of the end of your career if you allow the GREED habit to continue to reside in your selling approach.  Sooner than later, your potential customers are going to sense that approach you have  habitually developed and accepted now as standard selling routine and out the door you will go.

As a business owner your example is constantly observed by your people and the culture of your company is molded by your actions and attitudes towards everything related to your business.  How you treat your customer is at the top of  that list.  The assumption of your employees is usually, however you treat your customers, chances are that is the the same attitude you will have when dealing with them.

These two circumstances are a recipe for business failure.  We need but look here lately to our government politicians and unfortunately we can observe how the country and its people are reacting to publicized incidences where greed was either conducted by them or encouraged and protected by them to see this reality.  When the people (customer) realizes the injustice that is upon them, they react  sometimes even in a violent way.   At the very least, they will regress from those that are treating them in such a disrespectful way and look for someone they can trust.

The “Golden Rule” says ” Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you”.  Another old cliche is “what goes around, comes around”.  King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 28:11 said “A rich man may be wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has discernment sees through him”.  In Pro.11:28 he wrote “Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf”.  And finally, Pro.23:4-5 says, “Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint,.  Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle”.

As Christians in the marketplace, we too are observed closely and criticized for our actions when they appear contrary to our belief system we brag about.  We should therefore be all the more aware and committed to the biblical principles that guide us in these situations.  After all, you can’t expect unbelievers to be interested in your Savior if your actions don’t give them reason to believe it the only WAY.  So this next week try to follow this suggestion.  If your going to try and evangelize in your workplace only use words if you have to!

Would you say that Warren Buffett (financial  investor), Michael Jordan (basketball), Payton Manning (football), Rachel Ray (Food Network),David Foster (music composer), Meryl Streep (actress), John Grisham (novelist) are a few of the most successful people of our generation?  That was easy to answer.  What do you attribute their success to?  How do you measure their success?  Now your thinking.

Well, there are contests where they have won the most games and accumulated the most outstanding statistics.   Some have won prestigious awards for accomplishments in writing, film and music.  Some have well know financial assets.  Oh, we could go on with a variety of success definitions and what propelled these few to those ranks but allow me to submit to you a simple formula for success and how you can measure it for yourself.

1.Success begins with using the talents and gifts you were endowed with at conception to the best of your ability; (Mat 25:15-30).

2.Next, like all of those individuals mentioned above constantly do, you must practice to develop those talents physically, mentally and spiritually throughout your life; (Phil. 3:14).

3. Then when you become successful, you need to be aware and give credit where credit is due; (James 1-16-17) and humbly accept the accolades of peers.

4.Finally, share the bounty of your riches with the less fortunate; (Acts 20:35).

This is the formula for “SUCCESS” to R.I.P. within you.

Now here is how you can self measure your success and be assured you are using your life as an Divinely empowered instrument of God especially in the Marketplace.  Consider just ONE particular person around you……..

1.Have you shown Respect and offered encouragement to that person regardless of their accomplishments?

2.Have you Influenced that one person positively by your success?

3.Have you shared your Prosperity with that person?

You will notice I have limited measuring the number of recipients of your success to only one.  It is because that is a good place to start.  Measure your success one person at a time to be sure.  You should not have any limitations as to how many people you influence but I like the initial step for success to be attainable.  You can take it from there.

So my prayer for you is that your SUCCESS  Rest In Peace within you for all the right reasons and for all the promised blessings you are then entitled to.  Wouldn’t it be great if the people around you were influenced to SUCCESS because of your success?
